Baby things.

Okay, inspiration might have hit me a little bit after Saturday. I've actually found great enjoyment in shopping on Amazon! And I re-registered for everything on that site (well most everything) instead of the "Big baby store". Frankly their prices are better and since we will probably be buying most of this stuff ourselves and if relatives do buy they would rather shop on line, it just makes it all that more convenient.

The car seat! I should back up and say that we originally went with a different Graco car seat, but because I changed the stroller we chose (after shopping on Amazon) I was able to go with this less expensive car seat.

The stroller. Now I got a little cheap frugal with the stroller. I'm not a huge stroller user to begin with, but I'm assuming with twins I'll be using it a LOT more than I did with Jake. The original Graco stroller I was going to go with was expensive and just too much for me. I don't need anything that fancy. When the twins are older, I'd like to buy a more expensive, side-by-side jog stroller that will handle outdoor type terrain. So I decided to save the $132 now and spend it later on.

I also decided against the big Twin pak n play. I went with a more simple version.  It was also much cheaper than the twin version. What bugged me about the twin version is it says, "only one child" when it is used as a play yard. And also, I don't want my babies in separate bassinets. (I say that now). But heck they were in the womb together, I hope they can sleep next to each other, touching when they are newborns. And frankly, the pack n play will only get used as their bed for a short time, maybe 4 months and then they will probably move on to their cribs. We will just wait and see.

The other cool thing I'm excited about is the video monitor. I think I blogged about this with Jake. But honestly one of our best memories of Jake as a baby was watching him at night on the video monitor. I chose this one, cause he comes with two cameras and two channels. It was bonus that the receiver is portable.

I also found some preemie clothes (just in case) and some typical onesies and creepers, thermal receiving blankets. Love those! The thermals are the best as they have that spring that makes them hold on to the babies when you swaddle them. Sheets, changing pad and changing pad covers. All that type of good stuff.

I think I found a crib that we like. It's cheap and sort of matches Jake's crib (we will order it in the cherry stain. Jake's crib is too expensive to buy a second one (plus I'm 99% sure the style is discontinued) and we really don't need a convertible as I doubt we'll get two full size beds in one room when the twins are in big boy beds.

So there's the update on the baby purchases. What do you think?

I'm excited to hear you be excited!!!

Looks great to me!

I'm so glad you're having fun with it!!!

Finally you are having some fun! I love to see it.. :) Sounds like a lot of great purchases and I am sure lots more in the works.. ;)

Awesome!!! I'm not a huge stroller fan, either, nor am I a big fan of carrying my baby around in those carriers. I would much rather carry them in my arms, and later, use a snuggly. Howerver, with twins, I can see the need to have one free hand! :-) I read a study once about babies who are carried around in carriers rather than actually carried, and they said that holding them was much better for their sense of security and bonding. Anyway...I miss shopping for a new baby!!! Enjoy.

Everything looks great, and this was super helpful for me too, thanks! :)
